Australian’s are on course for an early taste of winter with temperatures in some regions set to drop 16C in just 12 hours. Snow is even forecast for Tasmania, along with the far southeast.
A BOM forecaster told the Daily Mail Australia, “This weekend may be considered the start of winter,” in April! “A cold front from the southern ocean will arrive bringing strong winds, especially in coastal waters.”
The Antarctic blast looks set to begin in the southeast on Friday morning but pushes northwards over the next few days, with 95% of the country engulfed by Thursday, May 02.
