Snow Blankets Parts of UK After Temperatures Plummet for Second Night in a Row

Many parts of the UK woke up under a blanket of snow for the second day in a row after temperatures again plummeted overnight as the eastern European blast continues.

A heavy dusting was even recorded in far southern counties, such as Kent and Dorset.

Snow fell over the Pennines, too, leaving areas like Tan Hill Inn in North Yorkshire under a few inches:

Snow continues to fall in parts of Wales, central and northern England, and Scotland.

Temperatures as low as -6C have been recorded, well-below average for the time of year.

The Met Office calls for strong cold winds in the north and west from Thursday, though the weather is expected to get dryer.

As the end of the week approaches, showers will return in the east and south-west, some of which are still expected to be wintry.
