Striking At The Root

Practically ALL of Canada is Covered in Snow

It’s been a record-snowy start to the Northern Hemisphere’s 2019 Winter Season, and the stats confirm it.

Data from Rutger’s Global Snow Lab (GSL) reveals that practically ALL of Canada is currently covered in snow — a feat that hasn’t been achieved this early in the season (Nov 05) since records began in 1998.

The GSL also reveals that Canada’s snow cover has been growing substantially since 2017, with the past 3 years coming out as the top 3 snowiest ever (by early Nov).

NOAA’s North America Snow & Ice Chart reveals the same.

And also worth noting is the snow-cover in Russia — some 85% of the massive transcontinental nation is currently buried under early-season snow, again a feat rarely achieved at this time of year:

Canada’s and Russia’s astonishing totals combined are driving the Northern Hemisphere’s snow mass into uncharted territory:

And record COLD is there to accompany it:

The lower-latitudes are COOLING, and cooling fast.

Yes, a few far-northern areas like Alaska and the Arctic are warming slightly, but 1) no one lives up there so quite frankly, who cares, and 2) as NASA succinctly identify in their ‘Maunder Minimum Temperature Reconstruction Map (below)these regions are expected to warm during periods of global cooling, as are the North Atlantic, Iceland and the southern tip of Greenland:

Temp change between 1780 (a year of normal solar activity) and 1680 (a year within the depths of the Maunder Minimum) — NASA.

And regarding any Arctic sea ice melt, and the potential consequences for sea levels, again, a non-issue. At least 90% of the planet’s ice is safely locked up in Antarctica which, for as long as we can tell, has been steadily advancing, comfortably offsetting the comparatively tiny losses observed at its northern cousin.

Don’t be fooled by bogus political ideologies. The lower-latitudes are refreezing in line with historically low solar activity. NASA has revealed this upcoming solar cycle (25) will be “the weakest of the past 200 years,” and they’ve correlated previous solar shutdowns to prolonged periods of global cooling here.

Prepare for the COLD — grow your own.
