Pahalgam, in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, just experienced its coldest December night in over a decade, the local Meteorological Department said Friday.
Friday morning temperatures in the town sunk to a nipple-hardening -9.7 degrees Celsius. Officials confirmed that made it the coldest December night for over a decade.
The record low for Pahalgam still stands at -10.4C from Dec 15, 2007 (solar minimum of cycle 23).
