Etna Eruption Still Ongoing — Aviation Colour Code Remains Red

Explosive activity continues to take place at Etna’s NE crater, producing significant volcanic ash.

The Aviation Colour Code remains Red and ash has caused partial closure of the Catania International Airport. Airport officials said they are allowing only 6 landings per hour, adding that many flights have had to be diverted.

Seismic and Volcanic activity has been correlated to changes in our sun.

The recent global uptick in earthquakes and volcanic eruptions is likely attributed to the drop-off in solar activity, coronal holes, a waning magnetosphere, and the increase in Galactic Cosmic Rays penetrating silica-rich magma.
